About Shihan Mac Scotty McGregor
Shihan Mac Scotty McGregor is a martial artist, teacher, author, and speaker whose life’s work has been dedicated to helping people discover strength through awareness, balance, and intentional action. With more than 50 years of martial arts training and over 40 years of teaching experience, Mac has guided thousands of students in learning that true power is not rooted in force or fear—but in presence, discipline, compassion, and clarity.
As a world champion martial artist and founder of the Positive Masculinity movement, Mac brings a unique and deeply human perspective to leadership, emotional intelligence, communication, and personal growth. His work bridges martial arts philosophy with everyday life, helping people navigate stress, conflict, relationships, and change with greater confidence and calm.
Mac is also a nationally recognized speaker, educator, and advocate whose lived experience as a trans man has shaped his understanding of resilience, identity, and authentic leadership. Through workshops, keynote speaking, and community engagement, he creates spaces where people can move beyond outdated ideas of strength and reconnect with what it truly means to live with integrity and purpose.
His newest book, Centered & Strong: Be the Calm in the Storm, draws from decades of martial arts wisdom and real-world experience to offer practical tools for staying grounded during life’s most challenging moments. The book explores awareness, emotional regulation, communication, leadership, and self-defense—not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Whether teaching on the mat, speaking from the stage, or writing from the heart, Shihan Mac Scotty McGregor’s mission remains the same:
To help people become more centered, more aware, and more capable—so they can meet life with courage, compassion, and choice.
